AUTHENTIC, TRADITIONAL & NOSTALGIC

ABOUT US - THIS IS WHO WE ARE.

Le’s Sandwiches and Café is Charlotte’s first authentic bánh mì restaurant, established almost 20 years ago at the Asian Corner Mall in the Sugar Creek Corridor. Our mission is to serve the greater Charlotte area with consistent and affordable, authentic Vietnamese sandwiches and beverages, creating a sensory experience for customers, while contributing to the diverse food landscape of the region.

Le’s Sandwiches has a long history that embodies the American Dream. Two immigrants (Le and Minh Nguyen), escaping a war-torn country in the 1970’s, both looking to create a better life. After many years working to survive, the restaurant began small and humble.

Remembering the tastes from her adolescence, Le created her own banh mi recipes. Le first created bánh mì sandwiches in her home, selling them to Asian restaurants and markets, eventually starting a storefront in the early 90’s in CLT. The first storefront was eventually sold to make time for their son. Many jobs later, Le returned to her passion and eventually starting food cart at a local Asian supermarket. Ultimately leading to the opening of Le’s Sandwiches and Café in 2004.

Today, Le’s core menu includes traditional bánh mì sandwiches and baos, Vietnamese coffee, fresh sugar cane drinks, a variety of teas and drinks.

The Kitchen

LE - LE AKA MRS. LE

FOUNDER - EXECUTIVE CHEF

This is the lady that started it all. Worked many jobs, but started making bánh mì in the mid-80’s out of the house to sell to the Asian markets. Self-taught cook, She’s the one that came up with the recipes that many have enjoyed over 20+ years.

MINH - AKA MR. LE

FOUNDER - GATE KEEPER

The “face” of Le’s… To many, know as “Mr. Le”. Also worked many jobs, but ended up helping mom full-time in 2004 when the store front opened. He does the day-to-day manage of the front of the house and keeper of the register for over 20+ years.
